Luxury Home Additions in Naples, FL

A home addition gives a house more room without giving up the lot, the street, or the neighborhood around it. Ryan & Voigt is a luxury home addition contractor in Southwest Florida, designing and building structural additions across Naples and Collier County, out or up, engineered to Florida standards and finished so the new space reads as part of the original home.

Custom Home Additions, Built Out or Up

A home addition adds new conditioned square footage to an existing house, either by building outward onto the lot or by adding a second story. Because it changes the structure itself rather than the rooms inside it, every addition involves structural engineering and a permit.

Home Addition Reviews From Naples Clients

An addition ties new structure into the home you already own, so a clean, organized site and clear communication count as much as the finished space. Here is what Ryan & Voigt clients say about how their projects were run.

Types of Home Additions We Build

See finished projects in the additions gallery. If the space you need already exists inside the house, a whole-home renovation, kitchen remodel, or bathroom remodel may be the better scope.

Modern kitchen with stainless steel wall ovens, white countertop, and warm wood cabinetry
Primary bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, palm-leaf ceiling fan, and white upholstered bed

Room Additions

A new bedroom, home office, or living space built onto the existing footprint, tied into the house so it shares the same rooflines and finishes.

Bright living room with a linear fireplace, wall-mounted TV, and glossy porcelain floors

Second-Story Additions

Second-story additions in Naples are the usual answer on lots with no room left to expand outward, building up instead of out.

Open living area with floor-to-ceiling windows, cream swivel chairs, and a tray ceiling with chandelier

Primary Suite Additions

A larger primary bedroom and bath, often called a master suite addition, and frequently combined with reworking the rooms around it.

White single-story Naples home with an attached garage, palm trees, and a paved driveway

Garage Additions

Attached or detached garages, including multi-car and two-story garage additions.

Guest house kitchenette with white cabinets opening to a sitting area with a ceiling fan

In-Law Suite Additions and Guest Houses

Independent living space on larger lots, including converting an existing detached garage into a guest house.

A Licensed Structural Contractor for Naples Home Additions

A structural home addition needs a contractor licensed to manage structural work, and in Florida that is a Certified General Contractor. As a Naples, FL general contractor for home additions, Ryan & Voigt builds under Jake Voigt's license, CGC1530056, the state's top tier.

Every addition changes how the house carries load, and the exterior has to meet Florida's wind-load design requirements. Ryan & Voigt works with a network of draftsmen, structural engineers, and architects and brings in the right partner for each project, coordinated as part of the build rather than left for the homeowner to arrange.

Home Addition Design That Matches the Original House

A well-built addition should be hard to spot from the street. Ryan & Voigt designs the new rooflines, windows, and exterior finishes around the existing house, and adjusts the original structure where needed, so old and new read as one building. An addition that looks tacked on lowers the value of the whole home.

Building Your Addition: Five Phases From Feasibility to Move-In

Each addition runs through the Five Phase Construction System, which confirms what the lot and the existing structure can support before anything is designed.

  • Complimentary. Ryan & Voigt walks the lot, tests whether the existing structure can carry the addition, and prices a preliminary scope before you commit.

  • Design development, structural engineering, and permit review through the City of Naples or Collier County.

  • Building the foundation and frame, connecting the addition to the existing roof and walls, then systems and finishes.

  • A documented review of the finished addition with the homeowner.

  • Return visits one month and eleven months after move-in to check the addition and its connection to the house.

Expect roughly a year overall, with the timeline and permit details covered in our addition permits guide. Every phase is laid out on the five-phase process page.
